Gfinity / F1 Esports

We had been working with Gfinity/F1 for a couple of years on various motion pieces for F1 Esports when we were asked to create this animated opener for the 2022 Grand Final. Capturing the twists and turns of the season so far, the idea was to recreate these moments in a scaletrix/slot car world. We modelled sections of each of the eight F1 tracks in a fairly accurate slot car representation, plus fan parks and commentary booth, plus we also created box art for the filmed section at the start. A tight turnaround 4 week project, this was a fun one.
